#NewMusicFriday: July 21 2017

#NewMusicFriday is a weekly roundup of my favorite, noteworthy recent releases.

Follow the playlist here.

Quite a few noteworthy albums out this week, including Lana Del Rey‘s Lust For Life, Declan McKenna‘s What Do You Think About The Car? (highly anticipated for me), Vera Blue‘s Perennial, Foster The People‘s Sacred Hearts Club (wasn’t even aware that was out so soon). At the time of publishing this article, I’ve given Declan’s album a full listen and although I enjoy it, the songs that stand out to me most are the previously released singles. Currently giving FTP’s Sacred Hearts Club a spin and so far so good. I’m already anticipating “Sit Next To Me” – also a previously released single – getting played ad nauseam.

Some new discoveries on my end as well, including a Spinnin’ release from Rocky Wellsstack & Nicole Bus which sounds wildly like MØ, a female-empowering track from Triple J’s Unearthed artist OKENYO, something hella groovy from Purple Disco Machine (how could a track from an artist name like that not be groovy),

In other business, Into The Airwaves, a new magazine I’ll be shooting and writing for, just launched this week. Check out the site, follow on Facebook and Instagram.
