#NewMusicFriday: December 23 2016

#NewMusicFriday is a weekly roundup of my favorite, noteworthy recent releases.

Follow the playlist here.

Only 1 day until Christmas, which can only mean one thing when it comes to music: Christmas music on Christmas music on Christmas Music. Well, as someone who 1) doesn’t celebrate Christmas and 2) isn’t particularly fond of most Christmas music after working retail for 3 years, this list will contain no Christmas music and unfortunately, very little new finds at all.

This week, I’ve listened to Declan McKenna’s “Brazil” a couple dozen times. And although it isn’t a new track, I only discovered it a few weeks ago while watching one of Andrew T. Kearns‘ vlogs and have been listening to it more times than I’d realistically like to admit. All this “Brazil” listening has left very little room for new discoveries, but I did manage to stray a few times. With very few new notable releases coming out (other than Kid Cudi’s new album), the world of remixes is on fire; my Release Radar playlist is saturated with remix. Give ’em a listen, save ’em, let me know your thoughts and new discoveries down below. Happy listening!

Pnau – Chameleon (LRDU Remix)
Big Sean, Chance The Rapper – Living Single
Elephante (ft. Brandyn Burnette) – Plans
Coleman Hell – Devotion
LEON – Liar
Galantis – Pillow Fight
The Last Shadow Puppets – The Dream Synopsis

ps: I read that the Arctic Monkeys are working on a new album! I’ve enjoyed Alex’s work on TLSP but am very very excited about the possibility of a new AM album.

Well, that’s it for this week. Only 1 NMF left in 2016 and it’s likely to be quite uneventful. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah & Happy New Years!
